HID options poll

Guys I want the White with blueish tint but can't decide which wattage and Kelvin to go with so for opinion I'm gonna do a poll. Also post up pics of your setup if you can, it'll be appreciated.

the wattage doesn't really make a difference in the tint just in light output. I have 6000k and really like them. They are near stock with a slightly more exotic look i suppose. I used to have 8000k on my last car and they were just a little bit too much in the blue department.

Im running 50w 10k in my head lights and 50w 3k in my fog lights. The higher the watts the more you drowned out color. So a 55w 10k looks like a 35w 8k and so on. My 50w 3k's dont look as yellow as if I had a 35w ballest.

Go 50w 10k in the headlights and 35w 3k or 10k in the fogs.

35w 6k, clean bright white light!

Unless you have real projectors like (BMW, MB, or Lexus) then you can get away with 8 or even 10k. My boy put 8k in his 06 GS300, all I can say is SICK!!

I have 8k 35w and they are way to blue for my taste. I got 6k on the way.

I guess this depends on the state?

I think you have YOUR metric scale mixed up.

30K does not equal 30,000K

the Kelvin Color Temperature system is based off of an experiment that William Kelvin did back in the 1800s.
He heated a block of carbon and the Kelvin rating corresponds to the color of the block at that temperature.

30K = -243*C = -405*F

I assure you, that a block of carbon at -405*F is black.

It would probably be black at 5, 8, and 10K as well, using your logic.

30k K would be the best way to write what I assume he meant.
It would be invisible to humans.

Wow, you people can learn.

K= Kelvin, a unit of temperature
k= kilo, a prefex meaning 1000, useless without a unit of measurement

3k= 3000 with no unit of measurement
3K= 3 Kelvin, 3 degrees away from absolute 0
3kK= 3000 Kelvin, 4940*F or a Yellow color

5000K is my vote...

Here is a picture on my Camaro Fogs...

Video of them heating up, with the car off so they get brighter, and whiter, than here. This was the first night they were installed so that's another reason there is so much color.

I don't know why I still have halogens in the Maxima. I'll take better pics and/or video for you tonight. I have 35watt 5000K HIDs in my Camaro's Fog Lights, and 55watt 5000K HIDs in my mom's Celica's stock projectors.
