Why, do you have a reputation that I'm not aware of? Or maybe it's the opposite, and I whored into one of your threads at some point. It's possible. I don't know, you're confusing me.

But unless someone else can give this 4DSC decal idea the Heimlich, I think we can call time of death, 8:19 pm EST.

So sad.

Not a reputation, persay but some of my posts can be argued as somewhat "off topic"

Thanks, but not for me. Maybe for some, and that's OK. I was digging the 7th gen decal because it was small and contemporary. Subtle, you know? The kind of thing that no one would really notice, except for me when getting in the car.

I know I said this was dead, but the font was rattling around in my head. It looked familiar. A little poking around, and I discovered variations on a font called "Bauhaus" that's a very close match to this 7th gen font.

Here's the 7th gen decal again:

And here's the 4DSC text in Bauhaus, stretched out a little:

So close...

LOL I missed the part where you said you wanted this sticker rochester...

If you guys want the sticker I can do it for you. I work in a print shop with a vinyl cutter and can make custom decals. I dont need the font, just give me the highest resolution image of the decal you want and I can make it up.

The pricing would depend on how many are done and what size because the vinyl is priced on square footage. I want this decal for my car so I will be making at least 2 of them for myself.

I think to have it with the small text underneath the decal will have to be at least 6" wide... you think thats a good size? I will make them in white and they will be to apply on the outside of the window (limo tint ftw)... But I could make a reversed version if you want it on the inside.

Way to go, Nick! (And good to see you back and motivated after all that break-in crap.)

I'll put something together for you shortly. After poking around, I'm liking the Handel-Gothic font, with a little creative license on the number 4. Notice in this example here how the shelf in the number 4 is disconnected, instead of overlapping.

Like Roy said, I can do without the text "door sports car", preferring just to see the 4DSC lettering. This design matches the pre-production decal pretty good, which I actually like better than the production decal.

You're in the business... what do you think of this design?

Thanks Nzelinsky, but can you make it as close to the OEM sticker as possible? (meaning including "Door Sports Car")

Rochester, the first one you did is closer to the OEM. I think for the second one, the font isn't wide enough though.

Hey Zelinski - how about if I provide you a B&W image, in 4" x 1" print dimensions, at 600 dpi? (PM sent)

I'm thinking the text color should be just a little off white, like RGB(250,250,250), on a transparent background.

What do you do about adhesive to get that vinyl print adhered to the inside window? Craft store spray-on, maybe?

Here's a smaller version of what I sent Nick. It's a little more squat, with a more pronounced gap in the shelf on the 4.

I like the door sports car on the bottom of it. and as long as the sticker is clear backing on it. I would like 4 out side stickers. right way. you may want to start documenting a number for your numbers request.

Guys, let's dial it back a little first, and see what Nick says before coming up with all kinds of individual requests.

That's pretty good, Moncef. The 4 is a few pixels low, and the "DOOR SPORTS CAR" text needs to be more pronounced so that it fits well between the left of the "D" and the right of the "C". Either that, or center each word underneath their respective abbreviated letter.

But that's not bad. I'm liking the looks of this much better than the 7th gen sticker.

Let's keep working on this and see what develops.

Well done.

Patience, Moncef. Besides, I think the 4DSC lettering is too high, and could stand to be a little more squat. And I'm toying with the idea of having the shelf on the 4 be parallel to the bottom arms on the other 3 letters.

There's still a lot of experimentation to do, not to mention the details on actually getting decals made.

But I think we'll get there. Remember, last night I actually threw in the towel, and here we are thinking of making a customized decal. That's pretty cool.

omg I cant believe how many of you responded so fast to this... I thought it would just be me and roch but with this many people I might actually get compensated for my time to make these...

I can do custom ones if you want for sure. Just let me know which fonts you want and how you want it to look. I am doing mine close as possible to OEM. These are going to be cut vinyl which is adhesive backing on it. There will be no background, just like NWP or .org decals.

Custom colors are not available only standard colors white, silver, gray, and others. I am doing mine in white and those will be the cheapest ones because vinyl is priced on square footage. If you want another color it will cost more because it will have to be cut from a separate sheet of vinyl.

btw I think depending on size and how many people order we will be looking at between $10-20 each or maybe for a set of two... Also, I have to ship from Canada and I dont know how much it will cost me for postage to you guys but shouldnt be too much.

Zelinsky, if you decide to go through with these then I may update my mod list and say "Zelisnky 4DSC sticker"

Rochester, I agree, there are some adjustments to be made, but I'm excited for the final product outcome.

Wow. There are a lot of enthusiastic responses here. That's really kind of amazing.

As I see it, there are 4 considerations:
Design Content
By that I mean, we've got the font design pretty much nailed, give or take some minor tweaks. But there's split opinion on the extended number 4 with the words "DOOR SPORTS CAR" underneath the "DSC".

Dimensions
I was ball-parking a 4"x1" sticker, but that doesn't really address the size of the visible area. So I was thinking this weekend I would play with some inkjet-printed samples to experiment with actual dimension. The more I consider this, I'm thinking the decal might be less obtrusive in 3" x 3/4".

Color
There's white, silver and gray. I'm guessing it's a toss-up between white and silver. As an inside-applique, white might actually work, being gently darkened by the factory tint. But I need to experiment with this as well.

Form Factor
People have varying requirements, but I'm interested in a whole sticker, inside-window. I'm not sure that's what Nick is proposing. I think he's talking about your typical, external vinyl sticker, where the elements are independent of one another. Nick, can you explain better what it is you have access to?

Keep in mind that there's no rush requirement to any of this. Let's take our time and come up with something unique and professional.

And thanks for all the input.
