What happened to the search function

Has anyone else noticed that a search will not yield anything newer than 2003? I have tried searching for threads I know I have posts in and I can't find them. And any generic search will not yield anything after 2003.

No wonder all the newbs are bumping 6 year old threads.

I noticed that to but thought maybe it was just my individual search.

Hope it gets fixed soon, that's a pretty big problem.

I only tried to find an older post of mine to test out the search function and it failed miserably.

Search hasn't worked at all these last few days. Nothing. Nada.

Now that I'm a supporting member, it's kind of irksome. But I figure it will get fixed eventually.

Search yields an HTTP 500.

I personally have just always used google to search.

For example, searching the 5th gen section:
----
Code:
site:maxima.org
inurl:5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003
searchterm1 searchterm2 searchtermN
----
and if you want to only search titles (not the text):

Code:
site:maxima.org
inurl:5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003
intitle:searchterm1
intitle:searchterm2
intitle:searchtermN
or a single phrase:
Code:
site:maxima.org
inurl:5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003
intitle:"this exact phrase"

Boredom on a Sunday afternoon:

1. Create a bookmark/favorite
2. Name it maxima.org 5th gen search or whatever
3. Copy/paste this in the url:
Code:
javascript:{function msrch(){var t=prompt("What search terms?");if(!t){return;};var p;while(t!=p){p=t;t=t.replace(/\s\s/g," ");};t=t.replace(/^\s/,"").replace(/\s$/,"");if(!t.length){return;};var ttl=confirm("OK for full text, Cancel for title-only:");var m1="site:maxima.org";var m2="inurl:5th-generation-maxima-2000-2003";if(!ttl){if(t[0]!='"'){t="intitle:" + t.replace(/ /g," intitle:")}else{t="intitle:"+t};};var m=m1+" "+m2+" "+t;location.href="http://google.com/search?q="+escape(m)};msrch()};
Load a valid URL, then click on that favorite/bookmark to search & if you ultimately end up at google, it worked.

If it works, cool; otherwise, whatever!
