Ok i replaced my trranny about a month ago and its been running good but since the last week or so, when shifting from 1st to 2nd i seem to get a grinding noise, (not really harsh as a grind but sort of a hummm or some sort) its a constant noise when im cruising and when i hit the gas it seems to get a lil louder, i cant seem to figure out what it is, this tranny only had 30k on it so i hope its not the tranny.

 

differential whine?

 

what does that usually sound like? like a hm or a grind?

 

Does it happen in second gear? Cause it would sound more like a whine that increases as the RPM increases

 

yea it happens in second and its not really a whine.

 

Did you check the fluid?

 

yeah i checked it and it seemed good but that was about 2 weeks ago im going to check it again tomorrow...

 

is 2nd gear diff whine a bad thing?
