Flowmaster Super 40 or Super 44 muffler

Anybody here know of anyone who put either muffler on a Maxima (or any v6 equipped car)?

Also I read in another thread a lot of Flowmaster mufflers are intended for V8 engines and putting them on Maxima's would actually restrict flow.... is there any truth to this? Specifically about the Super 40 and Super 44 mufflers please.

BTW, if I install either one of these mufflers could I just have the muffler shop just chop off the stock muffler tip and weld on this new muffler?

Or would it just be cheaper to buy a muffler tip and have that put on?

The stock muffler tips work fine for me so I would rather not buy some tips if that's cheaper.

Many people have used the 40 series on our cars, with videos all over youtube. I'm just personally, not a fan.

Flowmaster is very restrictive and belongs on V8s and muscle cars but it's your car, more power to you, that's just my opinion.

They aren't more restrictive than any other chambered design (like frankencar, stock muffler). I've seen LS1 dynos where they lost 2-3HP running flowmasters over straight-through ones. Not really a big deal if you want the sound.

Here's a video of mine when I had a 40 series flowmaster on it.

I have the FM 60 series. It sounds awesome. It has a really deep tone and it gets louder when your car is warmed completely.
