Charging-Battery Issue
Today the battery red light lit on. The car made it home. I checked the voltage while engine on, only shows 9.8V instead of the 14.+ volts while charging.
When engine is off, I see the battery voltage go to 11.5 volts. Looks like the battery is ok and picks up the voltage after it is offline. The battery would crank up the engine after a while.
The RED Battery light remains on all throughout the RPM's.
FSM says, if the RED BATTERY light is lit on all RPM's, check belt for the alternator, if alternator belt is ok, then replace Alternator.
Is the alternator change an easy DIY?
Also, what auto store has a reliable re-built (they normally are all re-built, right?) alternator. How much are they?
Thanks in advance!
