The paint booth my buddy and I used was a downdraft paint booth that sucks dust and other materials from the air towards the bottom of the paint booth through a grated floor. Baking the wheels just speeds up the drying time and cures the paint and clear coat faster. The booth is sealed and can be heated up just like an oven basically.

Take a silver Jeep Wrangler and put black wheels on it and the results are great
I can relate to exactly what your talking about when you talk about the accords and minivans that are rolling around on steelies but that's kind of why I opted to go with the gloss look to it. I thought about the same thing and didn't want to look like I had some 15" hubcapless wheels on there so few coats of clear make them pretty distinctive when there rolling, you can't see fine details but you can definitely tell they aren't just steelies.

Almost like black chrome I would say pretty reflective when they roll.

Jeep looks like a mean trail beast too btw.

Just wanted to reiterate that I in no way mean your car looks like one of those old crappy Accords or minivans. Your wheels look a million times better than that! I'll bet they are the type that look a lot better in person than in pics. I always did like those SE-R wheels.

Black wheels look sinister...but not glossy black....I would've went with a semigloss or gun metal type finish that really shows more sculptured detail and depth....It's like chrome in the daytime....but chrome in the nighttime is one beautiful ****.....it doesn't have all that light bouncing off it...it's what I call light absorption, and the sculptured detail in more vivid at night believe or not.....

It looks real good man. A lot better than the chrome 20s. You should throw that pic with the chrome wheels in the trash.

Wheel deal

Ya gotta wonder what the previous owner of those wheels was thinkin' - and drivin' for that matter! Maybe his kid got ahold of some paint and decided to "decorate" his daddy's ride! Or his old lady got a hair across her azz and decided to take it out on his sled.

Anyway the work you put into painting the wheels is impressive and shows real quality. Nice job!
