2002 Maxima SE
Over this past weekend I ordered a 2002 Nissan Maxima SE fully loaded, 6 speed, limited slip, navigation, etc. Has anyone had any experience with how long it takes to have a car come in from Nissan?
The dealer is telling me anywhere between 8 and 16 weeks.
It has only been a couple of days and already I'm anxious.
Thanks for any input.

LSD is suppose to be offered in Jan.. so it may take a little while.. but i am sure it is worth the wait.. they will call you up as soon as the truck pulls in the lot.. they want that sale and they want to move volume.. trust me.. it won't be there more than 1 hour before your sales man calls you.. I told my sales man i didn't want to buy just test drive.. he called me exactly when they were pulling the first 6spd off the truck.. he was like yah.. i am outside now.. they are pulling them off the truck.. come on down..

when is HLSD supposed to go into production and then come out on the market? i just called my dealer while i was in the middle of typing this repsonse and he said production is mid-January for HLSD. i thought they started production at the end of Nov or beginning of Dec and they'd be at dealers by Jan?

If the order is put in at the beginning of the month, usually before the 5th, it will take up to sixty days to get it to the mainland. If the order is put in after the 5th, then it goes into the next months order, meaning 60 days plus whatever days are left in the month you ordered.
Additionally, Nissan does not specially make cars to your order, they find the car you are looking for when it comes off the production line and sends it to the dealer that requested it.
I could be wrong, I may be right, but I'm comfortable with my delusions

When I posted earlier that trading in my '99 for a 2k2 would save me alot of tax - the explanation is that when you trade in (for those of you who haven't ever done this) the value of your trade-in is deducted from the value of the new car, BEFORE tax is added, sinc eyou already paid tax on your trade-in when you bought it. If they didn't do it this way it would be like paying the tax twice.
So I ended up saving over a grand in tax on the new car.

I never traded in a car so I didn't know that. I'm actually thinking of trading in my 2001 for a 2002 6speed before the paint on my car peels off ! I want to get a lighter color and see if there's any difference.
