Yeah, GrandHustle, I hope I can break 13's too. I have my doubts, cuz I'm 4AT, the track I'm going to is at 3500ft elevation, and I am untuned. But we'll see I guess... I honestly don't know what difference being at that elevation will make. Does anyone have any idea how elevation effects performance, and how that specific elevation will hurt mine?

I lose 30% of my whp on a dynojet @ 5200 for the particular day I was dynoing. There are online calculators, but it depends on a lot more than just elevation.

Ambient pressure/temperature & humidity, basically DA.

Yes that's correct, was trying to get a feel for the new launch and wanted to see what a granny launch would run in the 1/4 mile.....14.5 sec/1320 ft...didn't stomp it just a gradual acceleration off the line....without lighting up the tires.....

A 2.1 isn't that bad if that's what we're talking about... I've seen guys run 2.2's and hit a high 13, 6MT of course.

Just want to let everyone know that we've got another batch of 3" 5th gen exhausts in production right now - should be done by 23 July or early in the following week. Plenty of sets still available, just give us a call at 800.759.9920, open 9-5 MST/PDT (3 hours earlier than the east coast), M-F.

It's suprising that there isn't more demand for those, I don't get many requests. I think that part of it is that, as a group, the 4th gen guys aren't willing so spend as much for their parts as owners of later-model cars. We'd be glad to design the system if a group got together and was serious about doing it.

Can't we (VQ35 4th Gen) just bolt up the 5 Gen exhaust? I thought the only diff was dual outlet for 5 gen and single for 4 gen??

There's some slight difference at the front flange and the flange @ the rear muffler, but I'm sure a good muffler shop can make all the necessary adjustments

I last dynoed the Cattmobile when we were developing our current generation of header/y-pipe systems, and it was making 243-245 peak wheel horsepower with a very basic set of modifications. Someone really should buy this excellent low-mileage car. My daughter just turned 16 and I need to put her in a car with an auto tranny, but there's only room for one car + the Titan, so the Cattmobile has to go. I'd really like to sell it with all the performance equipment on the car.

Hey Brian, just out of curiosity, what basic mods did this car have when it was dynoed at 245whp? Was the AFR tuned, or was it just bolt-ons?

$45 for 1 pull/60 for 2 pulls/ 80 for 3, or $90/hour, where I have gotten 5 pulls in.

I need to dyno.

That's definitely in the plans, but I need to get a piggyback before I dyno so I can get it tuned. I simply can't afford it yet. But I'll be going to the track sometime in the next month to do a few runs, so we'll get some idea of numbers from that...

Yeeeaaahh, I definitely would have done that already, but I live in Alberta, Canada, and those are really hard to come across in the classifieds here. I have a buddy who mods his truck ('99 Tacoma) and it drives both of us NUTS that there aren't any modding/tuning resources around. And I might want to make sure I get either an SAFC II or VAFC II... Is it a bad idea to just get a plain SAFC?

3" catbacks are in production and we still have a few uncommitted units. Give us a call and snap one up! 800.759.9920 (US) or 888.296.5153 (Canada and AZ), open 9-5 MST / 12-8 EDT, M-F.

Hey not to get off topic....I was changing my oil and started checking Exhaust bolts on my Cattman headers and 3" CB and I found the flanges @ the ypipe header junction a little loose.....And I have lock washers installed on mine so some of you guys might wanna check the fastener tightness every so often...like once every 6 months.....................

Yeah Nmex I did that after about 50 miles of driving and I put a wrench on them every oil change they just seemed really loose, more than ever b4.....But I have been driving the car for a few weeks straight now since my wife can't......and I know, I've really been jumping into the throttle quite a bit more than she ever will!!!!!! I had a chance to drive a 2000 Maxima (A customer's) and man I jumped in to it half throttle an man that acceleration was totally lacking the brute force I'm accustomed too driving my modded 5.5th Gen.......

So if I do get a LR MAF, what are the advantages? Is it just bigger housing? Better MAF? Why should I do a LR MAF and not a 2k1 MAF? Do you need a piggyback to use a LR MAF? cuz I don't plan on tuning for a while... Oh, and I don't have a SRI. I like my GAB for now. Is there any reason to get a LR MAF with stock piping/airbox?
