Lost Key

Think I lost my last key for my 6sd 02 Max. What are my options?

Thanks,

Bob

not sure if yours does but my 02 max has a spare key that is red and it's attached to the front bumper close to the rad. The key is attached to the cable that looks like it connects to a wall electricity plug (not sure what it is for) and you can reach for it from the front bumper.

I think you can buy chipped keys on ebay, or you may have to go to the stealership, not entirely sure

you can definatley go to the dealer ship and they will make a new key for you, it will cost you about 100 just for the key alone, not the remote control alarm

That must have been placed there by the previous owner, no way nissan would put a key to the car anywhere hidden. And the plug you are speaking of is probably for a block heater seeing as you are located in canada

If that was your only key you are going to need to get the car towed to the dealership, or have a mobile locksmith come out and do it. You just need to find a locksmith that can do chipped keys

Just go to the Nissan dealer and provide them with your vehicle VIN #

The dealership is pretty much the only way to go..

You should ask them (them being several different nissan dealers if available) if you can bring in a key that you purchased yourself so they can program it. (ask BEFORE you buy the key) I used to program keys at a hardware store and it literally takes 5 seconds to program a key you just stick it in a little box, so don't let them try to steal your money!

Oh man! This gave me a huge headache a couple weeks ago.

If that was your only key you are going to need to get the car towed to the dealership, or have a mobile locksmith come out and do it. You just need to find a locksmith that can do chipped keys
Have a locksmith come to you, that's what I did. He charged me $200 for the key and programming and I got a spare valet key. You won't find it any cheaper than $200 I guarantee you. Especially not in the Stealership. Best of luck!

Hopefully the OP would have that solved by now...
It would be nice if he posted what the solution was, if any.
