car pulling when gear changes.

I have been having this problem for about a month now with my 2000 max. when the car switches to second gear it jerks to the left really hard, then straightens back out. It only does this from first to second, or if I am cruising and floor the car. what could this possible be? thanks in advance for any help.

Torque steer does not just happen, it's always there.

You might want to check your engine mounts for tears, rips, etc. Also, other potential areas to check:

1. lower control arm & ball joint
2. end links/bushing
3. outer tie-rods

All of this can cause the front end to jerk harder than normal due to loose/worn parts.

I've actually been having a similar problem, except my car prefers the right when under heavy acceleration. I'll be changing out all of those components for good measure, is there anything else that should be changed? Thanks!

or check your tires, a worn/low tire will do it too. In the end the phenomenon your are experiencing is torque steer.

Front end may be out of alignment as well...I'd start with a front end shop, and see what they recomend.
