No codes, i just passed smog with no problem. What my mechanic said was that my main cat is pretty bad, and the Y pipe's pre cats were tempered with before... but if it will pass smog, i shouldnt bother bother changing it... Because on the old engine they didnt change oil for about a yeaR, so that must have fouled up my cats...

Well that is what literally choking my car. My solution is buying a Warp Y, highflow cat, and replacing knock sensor for precautions. Then im sure i will get all my performance back, thanx to some VERY helpful posts on here.

By the way, does anyone know how accessible is the knock sensor on a 5.5 gen??? thanx

If the cats are clogged, they need to be replaced. You need a different mechanic if he doesn't know this.

Yes, but that doesn't mean it is good for your car driving around with an overly restricted exhaust. I got a pair of used precats through a fellow .org member in the classifieds and my mechanic had no problems swapping them out for me. My original precats were visibly breaking up and I was getting an occasional P0420 code.
