After how many miles do you feel your new car performed the best? I am talking stock and NOT after you changed something in the car.
I am near the 1000 miles mark and have started to drive it harder. When should I feel the car run better, harder, etc? The 2002 I have feels a little congested when I give it a lot of throttle. Probably need more time to loosen up. I have been shifting are about 4000rpm the last couple days. Will likely try shifting at 5000 just to get it broken in more. What do you think? BTW, I have not driven over 120 km yet

The more miles you put on it, the smoother it should get up to a point. I think thats somewhere around 6 -10k miles, after which the gas mileage and stuff shouldn't change a whole lot. It's been discussed here before that the VQ takes some time to truly break-in, but when it does it's really nice
I've got about 184,000 miles on it, and I think I've just about got it fully broken in. I ran my best 1/4 e.t. ever this spring: 14.697. It still runs like a top, and I anticipate more mods and lower e.t.s next spring...

Correct. I drive a '95 SE. Time for me to get back over on the other side of the tracks now... Take care.
