2K2 Tails: Bulbs

Are the bulbs on the 2K2 tails different than the 2K1's? Am I just crazy or what. The 2K2's have big-a$$ wedge bulbs in the parking light and brake light. Argh!!! They are not 1157 and 1156 bulbs.

bump

Really? Nobody on this one? I don't have a manual, so I can't look up the bulb type...they are not the 194 base with a large bulb...they have a larger base...anybody?

im having the same problem as you. i bought just the shells for the 2k2 tails and now my turn signal bulb wont fit into the hole for the new tails. i need to find out if i can find a smaller bulb that will fit in both the 2k wiring harness and in the hole for th bulb in the 2k2 tails.

7440 and 7443 maybe?

You checked the hole size too. I didn't even do that. I happen to think, oh yeah, I can just switch the harnesses, but if the hole is too small for the 1157 and 1157, that wouldn't work.

FYI...the reverse bulb fits both the '00-'01 and the '02. Just the parking light and brake light that is a problem.

The break is a 3157 I believe. Can anyone confirm that?

the break light fits fine, its just the amber turn signal bulb that doesnt fit any more. if the break is a 3157 would it fit into the old wiring harness still?

there has to be someone who has went through this before...

The brake light was a 1157 on the 2K1 tails. The bulb may clear the hole, but the harness won't work.

i am currently driving around with my 2k1 harness and 2k2 tails and i can tell you the break light works just fine. i just put the blinker light outside of its actual compartment so that you can still see the blinker light, its just rather dim. the break light and the reverse lights work perfect, but i need a better solution for the blinker light.

I've got the harnesses in stock to fix this problem. Haven't researched the bulbs yey, but I'm sure I can figure something out!
