Unfortunately, import transmissions are still expensive to build. So little demand compared to something like a TH350, Powerglide or 700R. If you buy the Level10 rebuild kit you can save a lot of money assuming you can tear down a transmission and put it back together right.
The biggest problem with the 4AT is the long 3rd gear. I'm in it from 72 to around 115 with 6500 shift points.

Just the cost of all the specialty tools and measuring devices I'd need to tear down a transmission and put it back together would be pretty high. I'd be willing to do a VB kit, but wouldn't go beyond that.
Yeah 2 things. Have you looked at the price of a level 10 trans? Yeah screw that I'll stick with the "cheap" 6-speed, lol.
I mean heavy compared to the cars that run so well with these 4ATs... IE 2600-2700lbs.
My car without me in it and 1/4 tank full interior weighed in at 3080 last time I weighed it.

Jime used smaller dia. tire/wheel combo which got him to nearly be maxing out 3rd at the end of the traps at the time (100-105). One more thing to consider.
The stock tachometer is off by a small margin, it still has about 500 rpm to go here.

Using the Consult interface,m I have verified that the tach is off by a small % and is proportional to it's frequency, so in other words, it becomes more and more off as RPM's rise.
My cars rev limit is @ 7100 RPM, give or take 50.

Not according to my dash

Mine hits the rev limiter at an idicated 6700 rpms on my tach.
You can see in this video at a 6500 (give or take) in 2nd puts me in the low 70s on the 2-3 shift.

Do you mean these particular 4AT's, or 4At's in general?
My data shows 3rd goes from 80 - 130 w/ stock rev limit. Mine is near 90 and 138, stock dia. tires, 7100 RPM shifts.
