well i have narrowed it down and i believe one of my factory ballasts has gone bad. i have looked at a factory one on eBay and it is the same price as a full kit from ddmtuning.net. would a full d2s kit be plug an play or is there wiring involved??

Exactly what he said. I would get the factory ballast, I'm sure the aftermarket kit has to all be rewired.

i dont think D2S is for your max bud. i think urs are D2R's.

 

Yea, you need D2R btw not D2S, will fit, but you'll burn a mark on your reflectors.

 

1 D2S and D2S use the same plug
2 D2S could be made to fit into D2R housing if the bulb bottom is notched, it won't burn your reflector -__-
3 aftermarket ballasts can be used, you just need a AMPS to D2 converter cable, which wil provided if you buy a D2S/R kit on eBay
4 installation is to remove factory ballast and tap the power and ground for new ballast
