AEM Dryflow.

I wouldn't risk an oil filter jamming up my MAF. There are a few threads on this, too, I believe...

Injen cold air intake is no good. The intake its self sits behind the radiator, thus, a hot air intake.. you can definitely have a cold air intake but it requires a bit of modification.. sparks.. and a couple have examples of a true CAI

just got rid of my injen cuz the bracket cracked the tube. no good. also, when i pulled it out, i found that the metal mesh that holds the filter element rigid had oxidzed, (thanks to its lovely low-and-exposed location) and left little rusty bits inside the filter, god knows what they did to my cylinder walls.

aaaaaaanyway, yea, dryflow ftw. but i woulda stuck with the SRI from experience.

this is what i was talking about with the crack... no fnckin good.

You'll like it!!! It pulls fine on the street during mid range accelerations, but on the dragstrip it doesn't allow the air to move thru the long tube fast enough.....so there's a flat spot between 2nd> 3rd gear shifts....Advance auto parts more than likely has the filter in stock p/n 21-203D...I found wrapping my with exhaust wrap and a heat insulator made it perform more consistantly....
Here's 3 air filters from left to right: Injen, AEM 21-203D, and AEM
21-209DK

Here's my old Injen setup

here's another look @ the 21-203D

Got a Injen I love it and it looks good and people were all over me for saying it cool but some haven't even tried it just jumped on that SRI band wagon and to save 100bucks on the Berk I'm using the Injen filter since I don't need a new one yet!!

thats about all its good for..."looks"

and we dont have to try it to know its not a good design...tests have proven it...but I'm glad you think you are somehow an authority

like i have said for years..."all intakes offered for our car provide limited performance gains so it only makes sense to get the cheapest one...since all of them do the same thing...give the car a pretty nice growl"

While worn mount bushings will certainly contribute to unwanted engine play, that's not the problem here. There should be plenty of give available in the couplings. No, it's just a design flaw. Materials, age, heat, stress... adding up to the eventual fail.

It doesn't take much to realize the Injen is not the right intake system for the 5th gen. Spend on hour researching this forum, and that opinion is overwhelming. It's even getting to the point where people are embarrassed by their Injen.

But it sure is pretty. Um, not Anomoly's dirty, cracked one, but when shiny and new, yeah. Pretty.
