Itouch Mount

I hate having stuff on my windshield. It gets in the way of your view and having cables dangling bugs the **** out of me. So I figured out a sorta-but-not-completely-ghetto way to put the window mount in the pocket. Still have to clean it up, paint the white PVC "mount adapter" black and I have a cover for the pocket in the works so you won't see the mic or anything (it's clean, flush, and won't interfere with mic reception). Also need to tweak the ghetto Scosche dash panel to get rid of gaps (people always said the Scosche kit was a POS, after putting it in I completely agree, haha). I'm no custom car audio guy, but it should look pretty clean when I'm done.

So now my Itouch is off the windshield, is still within arms length without having to reach for it, and I can plug it in without the cable getting in the way or hanging around. It gets the job done. Now Apple just needs to come out with a 5 inch-ish Itouch.

Nice. This may kick me into gear about mounting my phone up in a similar fashion.

Hey quick question.

Are you still able to use the touch capabilities with the iPod hardwired to the headunit? I know on the classic/nano, you can only control your music through the headunit. It looks as if your still able to select songs and play everything right through the iPod itself.

Yep, that's why I bought a Touch instead of a regular iPod. The touch screen makes tracking down a song in a pile of music a lot easier, especially when driving. The Pioneer has a setting where you can control it via the iPod or the headunit. Nice thing though is that when it's in iPod control, you can still use the previous and next buttons on the headunit (or steering wheel) to jump tracks.

i used one of these mounts in my last car for my Sirius radio. You probably could use it for your ipod touch:
