it's the same as any other car...you don't even need a how to it's VERY straight forward.

unhook everything that is attached to it. remove with a jack under it unless you feel strong. that's about it...

I just recently replaced mine. The VQ35's have a dual mass flywheel that cannot be machined (or well is not advised at least). It is reccomended to replace a dual-mass flywheel when replacing the clutch. I just went out and bought a sprung hub clutch and an aftermarket flywheel.

honestly, just unbolt stuff and start pulling. youll find that some things dont need to be removed and others do, all of which look lik theyre in the way. itll work out sooner or later

Driver side can be dropped with the transmission. Passenger side has to be removed.

unless you have hot spots i would just use 3M scuff pad to sand off the glaze

im curious on how resurfacing the dual mass flywheel will go, or if someone will even do it. Im surprised those axle bolts havent come loose, any rust? i did mine and used a breaker bar, IIRC theyre only supposed to be around 180 ft/lbs

it's easier to loosen the nuts with the wheels on and the car on the ground. block the wheels to keep the car from moving, use a 1/2 drive breaker bar or larger, slip a pipe over the end of the bar and give it a good crank. leverage is a beast, .

It's extremely difficult to resurface a dual mass flywheel correctly. (balancing mainly) due to different heights of flywheel.

With that said, depending on the shape of the flywheel depends on your action.

I swapped in a low mileage tranny (mine went capute') and a new SACHS (Valeo) clutch kit and only used a ScotchBrite pad to clean the surface of the flywheel. Did this a little over 300 miles ago and everything seems to be fine with engagement of the clutch. No chattering or anything...

...each situation will be different.

I might be late, but the easiest way to get it off is to just use a half inch wratchet with a pipe on the end. A 3ft jack handle works awsome for this. Use the ground for leverage and pull up. It comes off easy.

FSM.

FSM.

FSM>>>>>>>>>

Stop what you are doing, and get the FSM. You should be torquing down the flywheel and pressure plate bolts in a specific order to 2 different torque amounts. The order and amounts are in the FSM>

yes just use 3M scotchbrite to roughen up the flywheel surface...and the pressure plate to flywheel torque specs are 7-14 ft/lbs then 25-33 ft/lbs the second time ....not sure what the sequence is though..
