Does 5th gen really adapts to its driver ?
Does 5th gen really adapts to its driver ?
is it true that the ECU (or whatever in the car) adapts after sometime (how much?) to the style of driving ?
Do you have any "scientific" proof ?

i don't have any "scentific" proof, but i have noticed that after a couple days of my wife driving the car it's definately more hesitant to downshift... after bout 10 minutes it starts downshifting easier for me... i have lead foot, so i'm pretty sure it adjusts it's self somewhat
Yes it is adaptive and this was mentioned in another thread

Even me in my infinite objections and no care w/o proof .. I've noticed one day I was driving a bit more spirited than normal, and it would downshift on a freakin dime.
As for all other parameters (AFR etc) they're poop from the factory, so I don't , IMO, believe those aver get altered, even though FSM's and other sources of info state so.
I d believe the TCM does change, and it seems to echo in this thread as when that other dudes wife drives it, it's sluggigh .
