But you're right, a rotary is a good way to judge the effects of a FSTB. Also, get a feel for what it's like to launch hard into a turn from a standing start. Then do it again with the FSTB on the car. There will be a whole lot less wiggle going on as you try to wrestle your FWD car straight.
