My car stalled at a stop sign while I was driving few days ago. Yesterday, I used the OBDII and the p0505 code popped up. I removed the electrical mount connectors and the code cleared when I checked again.

I started the car and it worked fine. I was able to drive it to a friend's place (20 minutes) with no issue. The idle was a little low at 600 rpm when stepping on the brakes at red light. Sometimes it would jump to 850 rpm and then back down to 600rpm. But overall, the idling seems normal when starting and warming up the car. I also checked for the IACV buzz sound when I turned the key to the "On" position and it seems fine.

Should I still change the IACV or get it checked out? Any input would be great since times are very rough and would like to save money! Thanks!

P.S. car has 90k mileage

 

YES! STOP DRIVING OR ELSE YOU'LL FRY YOUR ECU TOO!

if i were you i would just replace the IACV and not even try cleaning it. Make sure to do a coolant flush as well while you're at it. From what i understand, overtime the IACV gasket wears off, allowing the coolant to seep through. This in-turn shorts the IACV motor which then also fries the ECU...

been through this already and it was a major PIA + so much downtime
