I kind of like it. If anything were appropriately red, it's the radiator cap.

I have that cap in my Altima. You can see the small allen screw, and I found it had to be cranked down fairly hard to engage properly. Anyway, since install it has stayed in place and looks good.

If you want to wait a few days, I'll be sure to write about my impressions on that cap. It's in shipment now.

Rochester, you should have taken your dip stick cover off before you sold the car to merovi (no offense merovi). Would take the only yellow out in the bay. Unless you PSed the rest of the yellow out of that picture.

Actually, I did. I also kept the oil cap, and the titanium bolts & fender washers from the engine cover. They look great in the G37. But that's all I cannibalized, I swear. Everything else went with the car as-is.

That's not my engine bay, and yes, I've already removed the yellow OEM warning stickers. I've not taken any pictures of the G's engine yet.

My bounce-flash broke on me about half a year ago, and I've been reluctant to take pictures ever since. (A new bounce flash is really expensive.)

Ahh okay, I thought it was your bay plus some good PS skills.

You just spent all that money on a new car, and you can't afford a new bounce flash to take some pics of the beauty to show it off to us?!?

That's correct. Hmm... maybe I should look for a used one on Amazon or ebay?

Here you go.

And this is the oil cap when it was on your car:

There are plenty of other options, though. Search ebay for "nissan oil cap", "nismo oil cap", etc.

If you get this, can I have the inner-sticker? It comes separate. That is, if you don't want to use it. It's the same sticker that's currently on your radiator cap.

It may be just the right fit for the inside area on the VMS rad-cap cover I'm waiting on.

I had no idea you were that serious about bits-o-bling in the engine bay. OK, ok... those were standard black JDM Fender Washers on the engine cover. You can have them back after my new VMS fender washers arrive.

As for the countersunk bolts, they're M6x25mm titanium. However, the cut on the titanium is such that the bolt isn't flush with the washer. So while the bolts are more attractive than stainless steel (IMO), it's slightly off. I'm still not sure which way I prefer.

Regarding length... countersunks are typically measured from the face to the tip, whereas most bolts are measured from the underside of the bolt head. But this isn't necessarily an industry rule, so it can get frustrating.

You know what? I'm getting too detailed here. Go order yourself a new oil cap, and we'll hook up in a week or two and swap parts.

I actually meant where can I order the exact bolts? it's this amount of research that I was crossing my fingers for a link so I could just buy haha. Keep your bolts AND you can have the sticker.

Here's a reasonably priced source: http://www.torontocycles.com/Selling...ium_Bolts.html

M6x25 countersunk titanium bolts are $3.45/each at this site.

What you'll find with research (or not find, in your case), is that titanium bolts are a big thing in the world of Bicycles. Who knew?

And then there are these, at ProBolt-USA: http://www.probolt-usa.com/index.php...l#.T1TxsXkiHhI

They're SS, not Titanium, but would be flush with the fender washers, and have the very same smooth head, without any imprinting that many bolts tend to come with. I rather like these, myself, even though ProBolt is stupidly expensive compared to other resources.

So with the pro bolts I would also need fender washers? This is a new world for me and I'm aware this is a simple question.

Fender Washers are simply raised washers that support countersunk bolts. Those links were just for the bolts.

These are the VMS Fender Washers that I'm waiting on. They come as a kit (meaning, they include bolts). I ordered 4 packs of 5/each for the G37. The bolts are SS, M6x20mm.

I actually just went back and started reading from the beginning. I placed an order for the JDM password ones that you have before. I like the idea of keep the same scheme with the washers themselves, some may be different colors but they have the markings on them.

OK, but I also just said you could have those 4 black one back next week. However, for continuity... yeah, those are JDM fender washers (red) on the headlight assembly tabs.

You know the bolts that come with those washers won't be long enough, right? That's what I've been saying all along. You need 25mm.

Yes, i'm also ordering bolts. If you really don't have a home for the black ones I take them and look for a use, but I didn't mean to give you the impression I wanted your specifically so I went ahead and ordered.

If reads like you've got a handle on this. JDM fender washers to match your JDM fender washers on the headlight tabs, but in black for the engine cover. And SS countersunks from probolt-usa.

Let's get together next week with our respective stuff and see what's what, OK?

Parts showed up tonight, and this radiator cap is really, really nice. I'll try and slip out to the garage later and see how it fits.

On the angry side of things, I ordered two (2) 10PC kits of fender washers, but they sent me two 5PC kits. While I can appreciate the rope-a-dope rationale that there are 10 total parts in each kit, they also sell the 5PC kit directly. So either they screwed up, or their ripping me off, and I spent twice as much as I could have.

Time will tell when the Amazon Vendor (JDMFire) gets back to me.

^ i thought you were pulling my leg, Ray, then I googled it. Cool stuff. Though a bounce flash's principles far surpass a diffuser. And also the one I'd get is a remote one, so I can be holding the flash unit on the other side of the camera and not even be at the camera. Works wireless

back OT!!!

My wife and I both have puffers for our Nikons. I have bounce flash too. The puffer is an amazing piece of work for only 20 bucks. And if you want to get really fancy check out his other high end attachments

No. It looks like screen printing. Anyway, I just installed it, and it looks absolutely gorgeous. Man, I wish I had found this thing for the Max.

Hang on... pics coming (if they're good enough. Damn camera.)

I love this cap. Although the wording is kind of dumb. Might as well say, "This is a radiator cap", it's just that clever.

BTW, this Amazon store, JDMFire, got back to me within the hour. They apologized for the shipment, and are sending me the two missing packs of fender washers tomorrow.

Nice.

Its certainly no high performance rad cap. I think you could probably find some of those bolt dress ups on a honda civic too btw. Do you think you have a show car or something lol?

The cap does look nice. I received my fender washers so i'm waiting on the bolts now. Radiator cap and HID's shipped yesterday.

About that reservoirs cover... Doesn't the engine get a bit warm to be putting a koozie on it? I feel like that's a huge hazard
