Car is over heating.

My nephew bought a 2000 maxima and the car seems to be over heating..
He had it checked for leaks, none found not even from the water pump.

Is there a bleeder valve to purge the air out of the coolant system?

thanks.......

Ok a few questions,

1. Have you checked to see if the radiator fans are working?

2. What is the condition of the coolant? Maybe the cooling system needs to be serviced.

3. Is there any obstructions in the radiator/condenser like plastic bags, mud, too many bugs, etc?

4. Is there any service history on the car?

---------------

Three steps you may want to take to try to just get at the bottom of this issue:

1. Check the troubleshooting steps in the FSM and see what comes up. There is a link to it in my sig above the Quote button.

2. Do a coolant flush and change out the thermostat. Warning this may open up other problems if the cooling system was not properly maintained.

3. Do a compression check to see if maybe the headgasket may be blown.
