Hollow knocking from the back over bumps...

Besides the obvious things, what could be causing that hollow knocking sound from the back when I go over bumps. Ive checked the spare, moulding and misc parts. Nothing...Anything you guys and gals know?

Do you have an ADDCCO Rear sway bar? They clunk if positioned incorrectly.

my best guess is the spare or the trunk table on top of the spare moving up over bumps...

Remove the skateboard from the trunk. That worked for me!

Re: Hollow knocking from the back over bumps...

When I first got my car, the rear rod broke of the muffler hanger...thus causing the tailpipe to knock against the bumper.
That was a good enough reason me to change out the exhaust at the time.

Oh, and be sure your trunk is closed...

I have the same problem

Yeah, I thought it was the dead body I had in the truck...

I have a feeling that could be the following:
1. shock mounts loose
2. trunk floor covering bouncing
3. loose muffler mount

The trunk floor, I swear i thought it was that...well im stripping the trunk saturday afternoon, carpet, tire everything.....if it still does it, im sure it is the suspension or mount somewhere.

ok, i stripped the trunk, and it is still there....It almost sounds like a cookie tray when you try bending it and it pops back into place...Could it be shock mount?

I recently dropped my car off to have a few things repaired and one being that noise that you are experiencing. I'll update you with whatever they find. (That's if they find out what it is)
