stock springs and shocks for the winter
i was just curious how many of you pull your lowering springs and illuminas ( or whatever else) and go stock for the winter. i was thinking of doing this for a few reason.. salt and snow and also more ground clearance.
What do you guys think?

I don't live where we get enough snow anymore, but when I did, I had a buddy with a Ford Focus ZX2 on coilovers. Every fall after the first snow hit, he'd put his factory suspension back.
He said it was so he could put snow tires on and have them clear the fenders (inner and outer), as well as because he didn't want the salt to molest the coilovers.
Like you said, I'd think having more ground clearance would be the way to go in snow. I wouldn't want to be so low that I'd risk plowing snow, personally.

i would do all the work. the springs and shocks are in my shed and all i need to do is get them assembled to each other., Not a problem either as i have a spring compressor. all my time really would be spent in taking them out and putting them in...and then theres the realignment since im raised back up.

I plan on taking off the coilovers for the winter time also, I dont want to run the risk of anything happening to them with all the salt and snow. Nothing like going back to that infamous nissan gap for a couple months

For struts and springs it's not worth it. I live in CT with a good bit of snow and I leave the Illumina H-techs on the last 2 winters with snow tires. I have a full set of stock springs struts set up to swap in and it's still not worth the time.

Just put on a set of Tein SS coilovers and they're staying on until they die or the car kicks the bucket. I've heard of and agree to swapping tires for winter but the suspension?? Wow! That's a bit extreme. I wish I had that much time on my hands. Even than I'd have much more important things to do than swapping suspension twice a year.
Dude, not worth it!
