cattman 3 inch catback vs. exhaust cut-out

No my question is did you ever backup the 13.7sec/1320 ft with that awesome setup (2.5")? Otherwords did you ever run 13.7 more the 1 time?

Maybe we like too go but not show (you)LOL!!!.....Everyone doesn't live to beat the sh!+ out of their car and have to deal with problems like what you had to deal with when your was sidelined.....I enjoy driving my car and stepping into the throttle and enjoying it's thrust, without flooring it WOT every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday....I like going to the drag don't get it wrong....just now and then.....!

Datdude you haven't dyno'd running your 3" yet either....I'm trying to get a day off soon since we're working a whole lot due too the continuous rain over here......I first wanna install my NWP, coilpacks and 6th gen VC, and new Iridiums +.....B4 I go to the Dyno....just can't seenm to get home 8pm, today has been the earliest in about 3 weeks.....I'll be doing my dyno hopefully B4 the end of Oct. 2010.....

and for years everybody has been modding the same kind off cars and getting the same results over and over and over. the VQ35 has a lot of hidden potentail. When they put this motor into the max its held back a lot by restrictive bends, pre cats and this gay a$$ ecu. So once u start to tamper with those 3 things you get stupid amounts of HP increases. Perfect example.......15-30whp jus by changing the headers (lets not turn this into a header thread ) 350z's dont pick up power like that and we have the same motor. So that just goes 2 show that when the 3.5 was put in the max it was limited to the amount of power it can really produce. So thats a big part as to y we see the hp gains we do off of doing simple ****.lol

between the FWD VQ35 and the RWD VQ35, the only difference between them is the intake manifold if u have a 3" exhaust. and the RWD are consistently making more power then the FWDs. full bolt on 350Zs with tunes are making 280-290whp, there are quite a few that have cracked 300whp. The highest i have seen is the 278whp from a FWD VQ35 without a major build.

Now and then...I might stay in it hard....but I don't wanna break anything so I treat it like a lady.....Even when @ the track I'm a bit hesitant to just beat the sh!+ out of it....I can fix anything thing that breaks on it, I just don't want that to happen...So I treat it right most of the time and enjoy my highway times between Texas and Louisiana....
Sounds like the kid has a fast ride already....I'm trying to get my A/T in the high 13's and I'm done.....and when I say in the high 13's I mean in true street configuration as I drive it daily, spare tire, baby seat, 245/40/18 wheels/tires, seats in place, carpet in place, etc...you got my drift....not stripped down to nothing, and wearing light a$$ 15" wheels...."AS IS"

When I see someone dyno with a 2.5 catback, do nothing else and dyno with a 3 inch catback and gain 15-20 whp, ill order one the same night or following morning, lol i know the 3.5s on the maximas exhaust rob madd power, but just an additional .5 inch width on a na application, with no other changes, to yield 15-20 whp not just hp like i IMO, id have to see it to believe it and it would have to be more than a one time deal as dynos and conditions will vary

The RWDs have the better manifolds. i will do some testing to find out, get my car tuned on a SSIM then just switch over to a RWD manifold and have it tuned on that and see how much power i make from each one. If its more than 10whp difference we have found a winnAr.

were talking about catbacks, not restrictive precatted headers, most of the restriction is no doubt in those precats, and the cat, no arguement there.

4th gens see 5-7whp just going to 2.5" catbacks.

I'd be willing to bet my life its all show no go... as sho off as most of y'all are about your new products, y'all would be the first to post and brag... my life on the line............. my car wasn't sidelined because I beat on it sir... please get your information correct, my ish was sidelined thanks to last years major blizzard snow wrecked my o2 sensors and transmission struggling on ice....... I also don't WOT every Friday as I'm the last person out the DCmax to show face at our weekend meets, datdude can vouch for that so before you keep spreading these false info as to why my car was sidelined I would appreciate you asking first... this is the 2nd time...

I may have came off a little bit more arrogant than I exxpected, no hard feelings.... I have no motor work.... my 13.7 is with the mods in my mod list with the addition of a gutted stock cat....

jaypee........................... i'd like to see more of these auto's actually dyno... so many of them have the exhaust, i remember it started from the law who promised a dyno and he just went MIA, everybody else after just bought it just because.... our community loves to add to there mod list, thats it... its a community to show who have the better mod list... all show no go i say............

I can understand... that can be a tad frustrating.... I'm happy I'm in this area as DCmax probebly have the most united members of this whole forum...

As for me being a All ShoW, well that's opposite of me...My 5.5 is clean but not immaculate....I don't brag, nor show anyone what's under the hood except my two pals ( one's from DCMAX as well) when we're working on stuff, but as far as hanging out in parking lots with my hood up...HELL NO!!!!! That's an invite for a missing ride, then finding a stripped ride, that happens to be yours in carcass form! I've got a fast ride no doubt...I just haven't push it to it's limit or even close to it....my quickest 1/4 mi is only 14.5 sec with my 3" Catback + Hybrid SRI and a granny like launch ( on purpose) not hard at all just a normal, leaving the stoplight headed to work! My previous time was a ***** to the wall launch when I was running that sorry *** Injen Intake/ w 2.5" Cattman + Headers....I musta ran 14.6 (5)times that night....that's when I knew it was the intake slowing me down....I ran those same times with the Cattman bpipe + stock Rear Muffler the nite B4....So once I get the other mods on (NWP, New Coilpacks and plugs and 6th Gen VC's) I'll dyno my 5.5 A/T w/3" Cattman etc.....

j00 brought up something that needed to be, and that was CF. And we all know it's hard to throw a CF @ 1/4 times. Yes we have DA, but it's really not the same as say a qualified SAE/STD. etc. correction factor.
Thanks for doing that ... saved me some time.

...too bad it backfired on them with the release of the LS1....Z28's were clipping quicker 1/4 mile times than the flagship vette!
...id be pissed if i just spent 40k on a vette and some little punk in a 25k Z28 beats me from stop light to stoplight!
