HID problem

So I bought a set of used headlights with HID's in them from an org member here, and they've lasted me a couple months and worked great.

Until recently, when I started going over bumps they started the flicker off then back on. Then the problem got worse by when I hit a bump they would stay off. I fixed the problem by taping a wire down. I've hit one last bump and now they will not turn on at all. But if I put on the high beams both of them will work fine, but I no longer have the HID part available, just halogen high beams.

I checked to make sure all the connections were still strong, which they are, and everything seems to be in working order. Not sure if the fuse is blown, I removed it to look at it and it seems fine.

Just wondering if anyone knew anything about this HID related problem, and any help would be appreciated.

Thanks-Spence'

Is it only one side or both sides?

I would replace bulbs as a last resort. Test the ballast(s) first.

It is both sides that go out. But I would imagine that if the bulbs were blown, then the lights wouldn't turn on with the high beam. I could be wrong.

How about to I go about testing the ballasts?

Try them on another car with HID's. When you turn the lights on, do they buzz on or do they make no noise at all?

They do not make any noise at all. I find it odd though. I've looked up a few things as to what it could be, and it looks like I'll be trying them once it's morning. Hopefully it works
