rear door stuck closed

Oh so frustrating. Searched forums, no real clues. Please... desperate for any thoughts!
Have the panel off, push rods for lock and handle working. Can't tell whats happening at lock end, sealed unit, can't see, can't feel! Don't think the child lock is on but can't move it with the door closed! (can't open door from inside either).

Is there any way to open a door from the inside?

What do you wreck when you kick a door open from the inside? What's a guy to do?

Break in

Does anyone here have experience opening the door latch from the inside?
I have reached in and got nowhere from inside the door and it will NOT open!

It seems impossible so, if you have any experience with this kind of thing...?

Come on, it has child proof lock; read the owners manual on how to turn it off. Open it from outside and look in the latching mechanism

Re-read his post. You will see he says "can't open from inside either", meaning, it won't open from the outside as well....

I had the same problem with both of my rear doors tree years ago. The latch that keeps the door secured to the body of the car needs to be lubricated on the inside of the door as well as the outside. You have to find a way to force the latch open from inside the door. Lubricate it first and then try to open it.

How to open a rear door when all seems lost....
As per my original post nothing was working but finally got it open by doing this:
1. remove rear seat by pulling 2 tabs at the front of the seat, forward which releases the bottom of the seat. It then pulls up and forward.
2. Remove door panel by removing screws in armrest area.
3. Remove trim around door handle- be careful- it will break!
4. Pull/pry door panel straight towards you to "pop-out" the retainer plugs.
5. remove panel by lifting upwards so the lip of the panel comes free, by the window.
6. Inspect to make sure the problem is not that the push rods are off. It happens.
7*** Reach inside towards the door latch mechanism and you will feel what feels like a flat washer riding a verticle rod. Slide the flat washer thing upwards and this will open the latch.

It now works so I believe my issue was one of lubrication. We'll see.
Good luck.
