Thanks Z and i understand they don't use the best parts but I picked up a 2002 SE 6MT for a good price and the pre Cats were bad so it was spend 400 to replace them or the 250 for the custom headers so i went with the headers and as for as any gains i didn't drive the car before the install and I'm new to the 3.5. I have a 2000 se auto and i do see a difference between the two...

^ I hear ya. I would have done the same thing. I asked about the fitment because I was actually thinking of ordering a set of CM headers.
If the whistling is really bothering you, maybe try taking it to an exhaust shop so they can confirm wether it's the flex pipe or not. I guess you'd have to replace it if it is.

Whistling is a result of a cheap flex section. Nothing's wrong at all.
OBX headers do the same thing.
You have two options, really...
Wrap the flex section in exhaust wrap, or have a shop weld on a more heavy-dute piece. Either one will pretty much eliminate the sound.
On a side note, I kind of like the whistle. I've had a lot of kids ask me if my car is turbocharged.
