Firestone
I got a 50% off a service at Firestone this weekend. Anyone have a recommendation what to use it on? Some of their larger repairs I can get cheaper at local shops with no coupons. Having a hard time figure out what to do. I'm at about 135-140k miles.
Got new plugs, transmission flush, starter/alternator/ac, 1 yr old brakes. Radiator flush. I got most the big 60k stuff done already.
Anyone suggest tune ups? I just think most the maintenance stuff they try to upsale is crap. But I hate to not use the coupon! 50% is still a good deal!
If anyone has suggestions let me know I'll match it up against what services I did recently (I left it at home). I'm also running on new tires too, and have lifetime alignment there for my Max.

They aren't the worst. They just don't do all the high end repairs. The're great for quick things like fluid replacements, alignments, linkage repair, belt replacement, hose replacements...I've never had a problem with them. Of course, I don't let them up sell me on stuff I don't need, or don't need yet, and they're willing to negotiate all the time....they put women through the ringer with that up selling **** though...

They're even good at replacing parts like power steering pump, brake hydraulic parts, and other messy jobs. Not saying I'd use them for tasks I'd do myself, but for someone that doesn't want to waste time, why not?
I think the most important thing to remember when using any place like FS, know what you're going to get replaced/repaired, and get at least one other price ahead of time so you have some perspective how to negotiate the price if need be.
To the OP, you really don't have to use the coupon unless you know of something you need. If you don't have a lifetime alignment on the car, that's a great thing to get for half off...typically goes for $100-$150 by itself. but if you don't plan on keeping the car more than another year, that's not really something you need to worry about.

As to punking out... had to look that one up in the Urban Dictionary. That was good for a laugh.

Not for nothing, but doing a proper alignment takes some experience and skill.
I'd stick with just topping off the wiper fluid. And if that goes well, you may want to let them check your tire pressure.
Look, I'm "punking" again!
