Does anyone have some pics of H and R springs with stock 17 inch wheels? I just wanted to see how they look with the stock wheels. And if you know, what is the handling difference?

Thanks

I have no pictures but I can say I was out in '01 SE 5 spd. the other day and thought it was great, great enough that I'll have a set of H&R springs on my '02 6 spd. by the end of this week.

The ride is very similar to stock but it sure seems to go around corners better/flatter. The drop is 1.3 rear and 1.4 front which really does a nice job of making a lot of that extra wheel well clearance disappear, something I think is a very nice change. I haven't put my 17x7-225/50 snows on yet because I want to see how it's going to look with the 18x8-245/40s. Obviously I don't think there's going to be any problems.

Warranty?
Do the the new springs void your warranty? I would really like the slightly lowered look, not to mention the handling gain.

Sure it voids the warranty - on the springs. I wouldn't expect Nissan to cover a part which wasn't theirs. In adition if the dealer can prove an aftermarket spring was the cause of some problem which I was trying to get covered by warranty, again I wouldn't expect to be covered, but I really can't foresee such a problem.

I was told when I changed my tail lights that it would void the warrenty. I responded with, "Well I wasn't really expecting to have a lot of problems with my tail lights, but I guess now I'm gunna have to fix any such problems myself, I think I can handle that."

So are you guys saying i can put the H&R Springs on the bone-stock 2k2 Maxima?

Where was it that i read about damaging the stock shocks or something if you replace just the spring (and vice versa)

Thanks

That's what I'm betting on, although I haven't actually done it yet to my '02 but it sure seemed to be an okay thing to do on Phatguy's '01. The parts listing from H&R is the same for '01 and '02 so I don't think there's much chance of a problem. Like I said I should know more after I've actually installed them this Friday.
