air suspension
yeah ive got a set of the air ride tech Qa1 's on mine , they have adjustable compression and rebound seperately as well , cant beat the ride , and looks , although there is maintainance invloved , and a billion different options on you air management system. beats coilovers hands down , and comparable cost. the beauty is the spring rate and ride height adjustability on the fly for any condition!! just remember like anything cheaper isnt always better spend you money rfight , if you have anyquestions pm me glad to help have and installed air ride many times
air is much more user friendly than hydraulics like i have, easy(er) to install too, but there is some maintenance to it and you have to remember that it's not going to have a race car fell to it. so long as you're ok with that, air's the way to go
Note taken, my engine is quite next to stock so racing is not my priority, I'm more of a show car kinda person....anyone know good air kit brands? Google ain't being too friendly haha
no idea who retails it other than who comes up on google. all the later models are modified coilover struts.
Seen a guy with a Pink Eclipswe with Airbags and seen a show it was like coilovers vs airbag suspension and they said the Airbags were better for the road and worthy of the track over regular setup!!
You can go with universal air and change a few parts out but don't get all that hype with a flick of a switch thing, you will probebly use it for the first 3 months then let it be.... like most said just do coilovers, there was a blue I30 or 35 with Ksport air system.... more like a show car, the fact that the rear wheels don't camber then you really might as well go with coilovers.... there is a 6th gen with it too, again his is more along the lines of a show car and does have IRS

i dont get why the rear not cambering have an affect on whether to bag or go coilover. my hydraulics ride MUCH better than any lowered vehicle i've been in. why wouldnt i want to be able to ride low or cruise at ride height at the flick of a switch? no its not a daily, but i drive 130 miles a day. i dont need to mess up a nice car to prove a point.
i use to ride around dumped daily
the next car i wanna get comes with airbags so im not hating, im giving my opinionnever bugged me

[QUOTE=Grand_hustle17;7837476]with going bags you most likely want to co a tad lower than coilovers but have the ease of raising whenever you want, yes you can bag the car without IRS no ish, but you can fit a more aggressive wheel fitment to get a flush look, im not necessarily saying camber the hell out of the rear so dont throw words in my senstence or misperceive what im syaing, all im saying is that for the $$$ coilovers gets the job done only added fact is that you can raise or lower whenever.... appearently you are getting offended cause you have air suspension... also cambering doesnt mess up a ride so get you info straight... it can wear a tire out faster but not mess up a car if done correctly...

you need to slow down your reading before responding so you dont look like an a$$. go back and read my post again. i stated my opinion just like you stated yours. i wasnt putting words in your mouth or getting offended.
i quoted you because i was trying to find out the relevance if having irs is to having airbags. it's your OPINION that if you have airbags, you want a bigger lipped wheel. not mine.
i have hydraulics (not airbags) because i want my car to be as low as possible when parked. i bent up the pinch welds on the front strut towers so my maxima is the lowest 4th gen on 20's. that was my goal. not speed, not lowest on a static suspension. my 3rd gen was alot lower, on 18's.
every thread i read about coilovers is that they blow out, cost a bunch to rebuild, make noise, the collars seize in place.... i can go on and on. for 1000/1500 i would expect better. for 2000 i could have the same benefits, with unlimited adjustability within seconds, not an hour. to me it's a no brainer.
lastly, i stated MY hydraulic setup drives the same at any height,( an inch up to 7 inches up)it's not the same with airbags. i never said that the camber/caster/toe didnt change. it changes and changes drastically in 7 inches, but it reacts the same over bumps at any height because my shock absorber is a nitrogen filled bladder. it isnt affected by how high or low the car is.
can we get along now?

my airsuspension doesnt blow out because i dont have air suspension.
when i have to change a hydraulic seal it costs me 5 bucks. i've yet to change one in 3 yrs
o.k whatever suspension you have even if its stock..... it is less likely to blow out because you dont drive it daily so the comparison isnt really valid, and yes you will hear of more coilovers blowing as the coilover raito is 9.97:.03 its only the white 6th gen and the blue I30 or 35 that have air ride and none of them really post then chances are you wont here anything...

with air, you set ride height, get it aligned. move the suspension all you want, when you have to drive, you hit a button and it's right where it was when it rolled off the alignment rack.
O.k so you have the last word you win.... I quite frankly don't care what the OP gets as I'm not driving the car or even going to see the car... the OP asked a question and I stated my mind, I pick coils you pick whatever, if it makes you feel better then yes your opinion out weighs mines and make a lot more sense than mines so I'm the dumb ****, argument over
.... pretty petty and weak argument to be honest, does anybody really have a last word on a car forum???

you just said you pick coils but you said "the next car i wanna get comes with airbags "
so what side of the fight are you on?
The reason I specify that the next car I get comes with bags is to show you I'm not siding with either, I just think a maxima on bags isn't all that showy because you can't really camber the rear which is most likely what you would wanna do.... you're the one who misinterpreted what I said and then came off with your "why mess the car up with camber" comments..... I like air bags, jut not for maxima's its like buying VIP modular wheels, great wheels just not for a maxima... I don't think bags do a 5th gen any justice honestly, that's all I'm saying so my suggesion was to save $$$ and go coils and just so you know, the company Platinum VIP in cali does make "cup kits" which makes the coilovers do the samething as bags so yea.....

i cant find any good pictures of this car because it was done in 2004/5, but i think this looks much better than any big wheeled super cambered vip style car like it

the stock side skirts touched the ground.

that gold car looks broken.

here are the facts::
good coilovers are expensive!
adjustable suspension is expensive!!
everyone i know with coilovers sets it at one height and never touches it again!!
if you have an adjustable suspension you will adjust it ALL THE TIME, and you WILL need to maintain it!!!
dont use an adjustable suspension if you arent a "do it your selfer"
use coilover if you want to never think about it again !!!
use adjustable suspension if you want adjustability!!!

Let's not ge into VIP pics as I can go for a year on that.... anyways appearently we both don't read well as I said bags are great just not for a maxima IMO which I do have a right to give here.... I never said he had to go with any 6" lip or tuck or whatnot, I just think bags do more justice to a car with IRS, again this is my OPINION and you have a right to disagree but that's an opinion that I wouldn't even change for jesus christ himself so you might just wanna let it go..... again you win the convo and I really don't care....
