Muffler hanger broke

Whenever I go over a bump, I hear some metallic clanging. Went under the car, and the hanger that supports the muffler rusted, and broke free.

Does anyone know if a muffler shop can just weld this back together? or do I need to get a whole new muffler?

It should be a pretty easy fix for a muffler shop, just a spot weld or two and maybe the cost of a new hanger.

If the muffler is totally rusted out, might be a good time to consider getting a better-performance one, maybe in stainless steel.

Threaded rod + Exhaust U clamp.

Replace the U from the U clamp with a threaded rod. Bend it to the same U shape and leave one longer end. Use this threaded end to grab the hanger rubber piece.

Easy fix dude.....just get some new hanger support rods, I'm sure a local shop has them already....
