Viper 5901 installation?

Hey guys, I just ordered the 5901 on buy.com, much cheaperthan stores. The install is too complicated for me and I'm trying to figure out who will install it. To those who have this system where and how much did the full install cost you? I saw best buy has a $199 "basic" installation for alarm remote start combos..what does basic mean and has anybody had theirs put in there?

Self install on my friends 5.5, took around 7-8 hrs, including tapping ecu for tach and neutral safety switch and bypassing the clutch.

Wouldn't recommend it unless you've installed before

That would be my car. Have to say he did one sick install. the 5901 is amazing, ridiculous features, i LOVE the 2way. he's wired it up so the heated steering wheel and defoggers come on sub 55 degree weather, which is common here in rochester....Let's just say snow is in the forecast for the next week

I just got a quote for this same alarm with bypass and install $400 on my 02 maxima with a good buddie i know that works in a shop. Another one of my buddies just paid $480 installed for his 05 G35x.
Install includes bypass where you dont lose a key at all, so im pretty happy with that I cant wait till the 8th when I have off to get it all done!

Why dont you call some local shops and ask price for the alarm and install, or just tell them you have the alarm you just need a install!

I have installed one in a 03 your going to need to buy a xk05 bypass module and have it programed.you might want to try it yourself its not that hard took me about 3 hours to do the hardest part was finding a place to hide the main unit and wiring up the trunk release with a relay.just take your time and do it.

I got my alarm/remote starter from them and it came with detailed instructions on how to install. Better prices then Viper and those other names.

Best buy guys did a nice clean job? Do you mind asking what you paid for the complete installation, including what extra parts you may have needed?

The 5901 is a great system. I install them all the time. I personally have the Viper 5902, with the smartstart iphone piece. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good alarm/starter sytem.

Does the viper remote arm AND lock the doors or do you need to buy something else? I don't want to have to lock the max with my stock remote fob then have to arm it with the viper one

5901 takes care of that, no need for factory fob
