Strange! ==> CD player suddenly stopped!

ok, this is weird and hopefully and it's a one-time thing only but on the way to work this morning my CD player suddenly stops dead and displays "Err" on the screen. it had been playing for 10 minutes before it happened, so what the heck happened?? i try re-ejecting the CD, nothing.. i try different CDs, nothing... anyone have this happen to them before?
