The lighting of the buttons are really dim and I want to replace the small bulbs or whatever they are, I don't know what they are actually called.

 

I need them too. From what I researched on here, you can pick them up from Nissan for like $5 a bulb, but I did hear someone say you can get the bulb cheaper at Radio Shack and swap the blue condom thingie.

Those are special bulbs and I suggest getting them from Nissan unless you do a LED Retrofit, which is what I did.

 

superbrightleds.com has a bulb that will work . If i remember correctly its a NEOx 3mm bulb . they have measurments on the site (if you have axcess to a measuring caliper ) .
I bought them for my 300zx's heater control panel and used some in the max.
They are VERY high quaility too !!!

 

glad i came in here! ive been looking to LED my instrument panel for years now, ill consider superbright, they have good products. dealt with them before.

 

Make sure the bulbs you buy are rated for 12 Volts. regular LED's are rated 3 Volts. they will burn in the blink of an eye if loaded with 12 volts.

 

The bulbs that I mentioned on superbright's are made to be used in cars.
