downshift???...loool, the engine would have fallen out

Seriously..when I was getting that vibration it was scary, like something really bad is about to happen scary..I never tried downshifting, I'd just back off the gas completely and coast. I finally installed the Moog endlinks and ES swaybar bushings tonight..what a difference! The bolts were rusted and a pita to get off, and the endlinks seemed in great shape..as did the swaybar bushings. I was thinking I'd just wasted my time, but when I drove the thing afterwards..wow, the last remnants of klunk are gone, car feels tighter. I think I'll still do the trans mount though, that thing must be on it's last breath based on the other mounts. So Ken, are you saying you solved your vibration problem by adjusting the coilovers? If so, good going!

It's always worth looking at all the calipers too whenever you start shaking...I thought I had a bad balance & worn control arms...was doing the brakes and found the parking brake on the drivers side was seized, causing slight caliper drag. The car shook at 59, and the back end wanted to come out (oversteer) on tight fast turns. Also, highway steering was vague! I temporarily disconnected parking brake cables (have chocks ready...esp on OEM jack) and these issues disappeared. I've also definitely seen intermittent calipers on some cars that only stick in certain conditions, sometimes not long enough to really heat the wheel and make the problem obvious...

*update* replaced both axles w/ DSS axles, i still have vibration during accelerating, but nothing as major as i was feeling this pass weekend as my axle was basically seperating and i was 200 miles from home *talk about a scary ride home*.

so i'm going to rotate my tires, see if that eliminates my vibration.

if it doesnt (wierd theory) i'm going to lower the back to make the drop even all teh way around

if that doesnt work then im going to raise it up maybe half an inch and see what it does

*edit* after reading post #41 i'm thinking about replacing my inner tie rod ends

*REEDIT* after more consideration i'm really thinking its my tires...i think my tires maybe cupped

yea it came out to be the problem of axles. i didnt think after 2 months the axles could go so sudden. im already about to change the pass side again. it rides perfect slammed when both axles are new. I raised the ride up yesterday and i'll just slam it for special occasion Ooh and by the way, does that DSS axle come in as a 3 pc style like the factory one? (passenger side)

my bad, yea i know it comes in one piece. i meant like the flex sections on it like the factory axle. Well the car does feels ALOT better since i lifted it back up but since the vibrating occured before the lift, its still there but slight. it still clicks sometimes when im in 1st gear coasting

yea 4 years ago when my axle 1st broke. i changed to the ES mounts and did the axle. and since i got the coilovers last summer its been consistent with axle failure. but everything is so smooth with the mounts

It sounds like you're having problems with the fly wheel and clutch assembly. Also, 50% of the vibration could also be coming from your harmonic balancer which takes a vital toll on Engine RPM, causing the vibration you are having. I'm 95% sure that this is your problem, hope I helped
