For anyone looking to get Cattman headers
OK sorry, I wasn't asking if the installation instructions would work for the Max but now that I re-read it, I see that it looks that way.
Let me rephrase the question. The o2 simulator in his link is a universal unit right? Or is it 3000GT specific?

So I emailed my question to the company and this is what I got back
"These items are designed for the 3000GT and Stealth. I know I have customers with other vehicles purchase this item for different cars but we don't really have any feed back if it does work or not. I guess no news is good news.
You can try it out but, we don't take back electronics. So, there will be no returns on an item like this."
Now looking at their pic vs o2sim.com pic the units look identical so maybe it's worth a try.

I will be getting a wideband and tuner sometime in the next few months
From your posts I have seen around the .org, you seem very knowledgeable, and I would like to hear your recommendations. Rather than sims, do you recommend extending secondaries to behind the main cat? Or what would you recommend? I just need to pass emissions asap as my registration expired in May (I tried to pass emissions before the headers but i had the P0420 code)

Since the sims are cheap, I would try those for now. But I still think if you run your primaries as they should be run, and either bung new holes or zip-tie the secondaries somewhere in the engine bay, you should be fine.
IMO, best and most thorough way would be to bung your headers with an extra bung and plug the secondaries in there.
My primaries are disconnected, and my secondaries are plugged into the primary bung and I only have primary codes, not secondary and I have no cat's whatsoever on my car and no secondary codes or any cat codes.
I have my secondaries plugged in and ziptied under the engine cover and I installed the o2 sim but now I'm getting 3 new codes: p0057, p1168, p0154 I followed the instructions referenced above and I'm pretty sure I hooked it up right. What could be triggering these codes?

You have to buy the manifold gaskets from Cattman . The only ones provided are the y pipe ones and the cat gasket.
Do yourself a favor and get the Nissan mani gaskets and copper gaskets for the y pipe.

speed force racing in California makes a turbo kit for our max. B Catts is familiar with the company, I spoke to him about it when I was making the purchase of my 3" from him. Now I'm wondering about the header/y-pipe deal. Is there another buy going on?
I'm in.... Just made my downpayment!
Brain and I were talking about the O2 sim thing. Until NmexMax has something further to report, I'll get back in touch with my local Nissan dealer. My Nissan dealer had told me months ago they had a source for getting aftermarket O2 sims for like the exhaust/header mods they do in house on the Xterras and stuff. I'll see if I can't get the company they buy from to see if this is a better source for the sims.

So that's what I'll be going with!!! The guy I spoke with seems to know his stuff.....I also was asking him about their custom manifold as well. They have a really nice 4.1L stroker build engine for sell...wish I lived closer I'd probably just have them build my Maxima.
ordered just in time!! do we need to tune anything or will it run ok? I have an innovate lc1 i'm going to throw in just to keep an eye on things. my old car didn't need a tune or anything it just ran pretty rich, is it the same for the vq35?
I've seen people on the forums put headers on and no tune...runs fine...just wont be as efficient as if you were to get a tune.

I will be running untuned when I get mine on....
