removing upper after spacer install

Alright. This manifold is glued on. Don't want to destroy the spaces by digging in with a screwdriver. Any suggestions?

Aside from my question, have you tried a rubber cooking spatula?

No, seriously. As goofy as that sounds. The rubber will be less likely to damage the mating surfaces.

Another alternative, I suppose, is a plastic putty knife. Or a decal squeegee.

Not gonna work in this instance bro. the elbow is removed. the bop is removed, the entire upper wont seperate from the lower and spacer. No way to get in between with a screwdriver much less a spatula lol
Did get to swap in the powdercoated heater core lines, but this is still sitting there laughing at me...

yeah emailed him.

Got it finally. Took the torch to it and just stayed away from the spacers for about five minutes, then put the fork over the screw holes and hit it with a baby sledge. finally rocked loose on one side then was able to pry it.

So without direct heat you wont tear the spacers up if you use a torch. thanks yall

This is good info. I've been contemplating removing my ssim too. I'm curious to your impressions after going back to stock (as a fellow AT).

BTW did you get rid of the middle piece on the spacer that connects the elbow to the UIM? I did and I'm wondering how that'd be on the stock one too..
