Hey everyone,

One of the things that baffled me for a while was why one of my memory seats (1) didn't work (can't set it or use it), while the other one worked perfectly fine. It's not a big deal, but if I could figure out why and fix it, that'd be great.

Anyone have any ideas why one of the memory seat options would work and the other wouldn't? When I press the set button, both light up once I believe, but then only the 2nd one blinks and allows you to set it while the first one just goes off and stays off.

 

There's a switch to the left of the heated steering wheel switch. You can activate the memory seats or Cancel it. Did you make sure the switch was on the active setting?

 

I believe it is on. I will double check to make sure when I get back out there though. Could that make it so one of them works but the other doesn't?

 

u have a manual so the car has to be set to the on position and the car is off,and the parking brake has to be on.

1. hold the set button till the lights light up
2. when they light up hold the number to be set for 3 seconds
3. to ensure that they are set press the set button and the set numbers will stay lit letting you know it was stored


I had to extensively read the manual but its in there.

 

Yea I did all that Sneaky. I was able to set it on the 2nd one. For the first one, it won't let me set it. I tried it quite a few times and did it only once on the 2nd one to get it to work.

 

If u can store the second one then there is no malfunction. Leave it for a while and come back to it.

 

That button on the dash does nothing for me in terms of how the seat is set.

In fact, that button must be broken, because it does not matter which position it is in, nothing happens or changes.

 

The switch was definitely on auto.

As for the memory seat option working for only number 2, I've had the car for close to a year now. I attempt to set 1 every once in a while and never succeed. I always succeed at setting 2. I'm pretty sure something's up with 1.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

 

If anyone has any suggestions I'm up for it. I got some time today to take off my door panel and poked around. I was expecting there to be two separate connections for each of the memory seat settings but it turned out to be one. From what I saw, everything looked fine. Maybe I should have tried disconnecting the connection and reconnecting, but don't see how that would help.

Any ideas?

After analyzing, when I press the Set button, option 1 blinks once and shuts off right away. Option 2 (the one I can set and is set), stays solid for a few seconds.
