Back on the road again!

Well just got my car back on the road after a 4 month break. Slapped a curve and destroyed a rim, lower control arm, tie rod, bent strut, broke srtut from spindle, abs sensor, brake line and a axle. Roughly 1800$ bones of repairs!
Well i have this growl coming from my engine and it is heard around 2 or 3rd gear. It is loud when the car is driving and warming up but as I drive more and the engine warms up it is not as vocal as it is when it is cold. Any ideas? I am going to change my oil again but I am going with a Mobil1 filter and Royal Purple oil and see if that calms my babies growl.
Any suggestions I would appreciate as well as any reference to a "GOOD" Maxima mechanic in the Raleigh,North Carolina area.

Check motor mounts. Can cause engine noise.

What he said^ If all that was damaged you may have hit hard enough to damage a motor mount too.

mine does a wierd growl when i hit a bump in the city. I was thinkin that it was the axles and tranny being stressed out too much from a bump with my dead shocks and fail dead bushings

Motor mount

Thanks for the tips. I do not think it is internal I switched over to RP with a Mobil1 filter so she is smooth as butter. But I still get the rumble around second or third and it is coming from the passenger side. So I am going to have the Motor mounts checked and exhaust. When I get into her she moves out but that rumble comes in and out. I will post after I have the mounts checked.

I could not get over how much quieter my engine was after replacing the passenger side engine mount. It was literally a night and day difference.

More than likely it's your flex pipe that's starting to fail. As the engine moves back and forth, it makes more and less noise. Should be around $100 to have a repaired by an exhaust shop.

Its officially the cat

Went to a garage and the mechanic took it for a test drive an placed it on a rack. He took a hammer and tapped my cat and dust popped out.
So I am going to get a new cat and o2 sensor and go from there!

Was it cat or precat? If precat you might want to look into upgrading to headers. Oh and a bad cat would make a rattle not a growl are you sure that's what was causing the noise?

water Bottle

After talking with someone they seem to agree it is not the cat but the resonator after the cat. I am not to sure because the bad part is shaped like a water bottle. Is that the cat or resonator?
