2001 Tranny Slipping

just got my car back from the dealer. 2001 SE with 9000 miles. I told them that the damn tranny is slipping especially when cold. They test drove the car and would you believe they actually agreed with me. The only problem is that my VIN# doesn't fall into the current TSB ( NTB00-039) so they told me they can't fix it and don't know what the problem is. What the hell!! They told me they would have to contact NISSAN NORTH AMERICA but not until after the holidays. Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: 2001 Tranny Slipping

Just remind them the TSB means NOTHING when a one year old car with 9000 miles has a transmission problem. . . Reason being is you have a ?? year, 60,000 mile warranty on the powertrain. Make them fix it, no excuses and no money.

I too have this problem on my 2000 Max. I just need to get it over there so they'll look at it and disagree with me. I have 50k on it now and it's getting really bad in the cold. Shame I'm not OVER 50k as my alternate warranty company would replace the entire trans - they were ready to until they realized there was still a powertrain on it. DAMNIT!

If it keeps slipping and goes out, you're going to get a new tranny. Just hope it goes out before warranty ends.

The dealer just informed me that they will be replacing my tranny with a brand new one. What's up with that? A dealer actually doing the right thing! Hopefully this will solve the problem. So if you haven't already, you better get yours checked out soon. You only have 10k miles left on that warranty. A new tranny after 9000 miles....I really wish I had my 98 still with the 5 spd...never had any problems.

Just a little advice:

Have it replaced/repair as soon as possible so dealer won't ***** you about it.

My dealer replaced my Solenoids & TCM with no questions asked even though I had a recaliberated VB and a $hitload of other mods.... They just told me to stop beating on my car and I told them that I drive it like every other New Yorker...
