car also feels like a brick getting on the high way

i dont want my 03 ending up as my 92... snapped a timing chain

I believe that is your Intake Valve Timing Control Solenoid Valve (bank 2).

See page EC-24 of the fsm. If you need a fsm, download it from here:

I had the exact same noise (rattling noise) happening with my 03 Maxima. At the beginning, I thought it came from above the engine too, but it is in fact your rear pre-cat converter. The inside of the cat came loose, so when you lift off the gas, the vacuum created inside the exhaust makes it rattle.

I bought one on ebay just like this one for $330 => http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-D...Q5fAccessories

I had a local exhaust shop install it for $75 and the noise is gone.

If you want to make sure, put you car on ramps, go under the car and have a friend give it some throttle while you try to see where the noise is coming from, but i'm 99% sure it's your rear pre-cat.

I'm having that rattling and that whining noise all at once...

I see how the rattling would be the precat but listen closely and you hear what I'm talking about.

Will post more videos later

Sorry about the quality of both pictures and videos.. Both were captured off my HTC evo..
