Behold the power of the 2k2!

Nice title huh?

Seriously, i was out driving my coworkers to lunch and my other coworker was driving alone in her Pre-2000 Avalon.

Well, i thought she wanted to race judging from the way she was driving so i gunned it on a roll (around 25mph) and downshifted to 2nd.

Believe it or not, with a total of 700lbs. of body weight inside the car i still chirped 2nd on a roll! Nifty! Never experienced anything like that before.

All my passengers, including the Avalon driver was amazed the Max did that.

I kept my cool but deep inside i was exhilirated!

Btw, it's an auto.

Just wanted to share

Wow, chirping second on a roll in an auto? That's impressive to say the very least.

Promise not to laugh? Okay good. what the heck is chirping? The only thing that I can think of is that it's when the tires spin when going into any other gear than first.

You didn't laugh, did you?

When you put too much power through the wheels and they momentarily break the traction, it "chirps"

Like spinning your tires a bit basicly.

If you have an auto,

then wouldn't the tranny kickshift into 1st if you punch it from 25 mph?

It doesn't matter if you manually put the shift lever into "2" postion, the tranny will still shift into 1st gear if you gave it full throttle at 25 mph.

Anyway, chipping even 1st gear on a roll with the car full of passengers is something hard to do!!
