i was going home at 1 a.m. last night and a lexus tried to race me.we raced 85 to about 130 mph , i was bymyself and he had 5 people in his car. i walked by him no problem at 85 to 115 but at about 125 he caght up and walked me very slowly......i thought those cars we limited like mine......131mph.any ways i have a 2k1auto with k\n filter and underdrive pulley.......

I assume you mean the 1997-2001 body style? They were not limited and Lexus claims "141mph" top speed.

 

I agree. You should've kept on going... unless he had something under his hood that you didn't know about.

If you can splice wires, it shouldn't be hard at all.

Top speed is either aerodynamically or rev limited. I haven't tested it out so I have no clue.

Yes, it can do 0-60, 1/4 mile, X km to X km, etc.

Remember...Auto's shift from 3rd to 4th at about 125. You probably couldn't pull on him in that tall gear.

What came first, rev limiter in third, or speed limiter at 131? Just curious, I've only let it auto shift at those speeds.

 

rev limiter at 125 in 3rd then spd limiter at 131 in 4th......

 

This is going to sound odd, but when I manage to race up that high, I let the auto shift itself at about 110 or so, then flick off the OD at about 115 and it pull pretty nicely again, whereas when I leave it in 3rd, it has a hell of a time running through that part of the rpm range at that speed. This was the only way I was able to keep up with Washington DC Maxima when we raced at those speeds, at least before I hit the limiter.

 

TC unlocks when you switch off O/D in 3rd... thats the kick you feel..

 

The T.C. shouldn't lock up with your foot to the floor, or in any other gear but fourth. I don't know what the heck nc is doing. The 2-3 upshift is near 80mph and the 3-4 upshift is near 125mph.
