Bogging acceleration

Why is my car was bogging. When I step on the gas it hesitates then pulls. Also when I rev my car, the tach shudders coming down, it doesn't come down as smoothly as the other cars I've seen and I have a low idle. Any thoughts?

If I remember right, there is a 6 speed hesitation issue (I get it occasionally, sort of like a Quadrajet bog for the other old farts here who remember back that far!) but I don't recall the cause or the solution. No tach shuddering though.

Have you checked for codes? Even if the SES light is off, you may have a pending code. If you don't have a code reader yet, get one. Best $60 I've ever spend on my car.

it idles normally most of the time but sometimes it almosts cuts off but never does. 102k miles I just really wanted to know more about the fact that my acceleration is as good as my friends 03 2.5 altima. Which by the way is way faster off the line then my vq35. WTF!?

Something is wrong, you should be able to annihilate a 2.5 Altima. They run low 16s, 6 speed 5.5 gens run low to mid 14s stock. I know mine feels significantly quicker than my 4AT 5.5 gen did.

i would guess fuel line issues or ignition(plugs, packs) or maybe O2s/ cats- but that is just guesses with multiple variables. Try a diagnostic check at a local mechanic or stealership

I had codes out the ars when I got the car but I babied it as much as I could and that changed. I had that rotten egg smell at first also and my gas mileage is 17 to 19 mpgs mostly highway. This **** is booty. It's in the shop now getting a tranny rebuild cause I lost my 2nd then all. I'm ordering all ignition coils, spark plugs, fuel filter, catback and straight pipe when I get it back. I already have headers but haven't installed yet

Idles sometimes very low, say near 500rpm ... sometimes dips lower but doesn't stall out ... curious when was the last oil change done? what is your current oil level reading? ... it is just a thought I have if your oil level is low and possible dirty, you may have pushed up some sludge and possible gummed up the passage way in the Variable Timing Solenoid. Which is being displayed as sluggish acceleration, idle timing sound likes it off makes me think that passage way may have some blockage ... as for the Tach on our cars pretty unreliable when you consider they tend to bounce all over before they settle in ... I would start be checking the oil level and have a look to see how dark the oil is if it has been awhile since the last change. Just my 2 cents

I haven't had a chance to check my idle really. My car is in the shop, but before I put it in there I replaced the oil and filter Pennzoil Platinum, Bosch premium filter. Hoping to get her back before the end of the week.

If you got the headers I would slap those on Asap....probably the cats are getting bad my rear one went out about 120,000miles my front who knows just took it off yesterday and Damn that **** was so clogged I was like Damn ...I put my ride on a dyno to see where I was at, in the beginning of the year so trying to fix a couple things and go back a minus was my heavy rims and a super clogged cat..took alot of the power, but good luck..
