Production is nearly there for all 3 different Cattman Y pipes; 4th/5th FED, 5th Cali, 5.5 Gen....Call Cattman directly to get in on (the last) 1 of these production runs now, before it's too late!

How many more does Brian need before he begins the Production Run of the 5.5 gens. Started getting a funny buzzing from that area on the way home today at around 1.5k to 2k and when I went under the car it appears that the the flex is completely loose on the front side.

If it can't be welded then I might be in

How many do we have total for the 5.5 gen? I might be persuaded to get this as well. If I currently do not have a HFC or cat-back system, will there be benefit?

I've got the same issue. That's why I started this. If you and the last poster are in, we should only need 1 more person.

If you and the previous poster get in on the buy, that should make 8. Check thread # 1 for a list that I update when members say that they're "in".
If everything else is stock, this pipe, (according to Cattman), will produce an extra 7-9 HP. There is apparently a nice change in tone as an added bonus. Not really louder persay, but deeper.

We're almost ready to start production! 1 or 2 more people on board and it's a go! Summer is almost here - let's do this!

But like someome already said- warpspeed is only 250 for SS mandrel(200 for "aluminized") and can get the flex swapped. And I even bet their flex will last for years unless you dog the bottom of your car on rocks, brush or weather. I had one in my old 95 and it lasted 65k+(the length I owned the car) with no issues. hmmm
I had a WarpSpeed y-pipe on 02', there was no hanger and flex section was iffy at best. I have a Cattman y-pipe and could not be more pleased.

So, you replaced the Warpseed with a Cattman on the same car? If so, that would make for very interesting input/ comparason.

Yep. Actually, I removed the WarpSpeed y-pipe because the drone from flex-pipe area was so bad and went back to stock. I bought my Cattman y-pipe from another Orger and it is a very nice piece. Even with stock exhaust it sounds better and 7-8 hp is not a bad gain for a simple bolt-on. I imagine with the FastCat and 2.5" exhaust there are couple more hp gained. The sound of the full Cattman system is very pleasant! Damm Sexy!!!

I am always willing to pay for quality than going cheap and regretting it later.

Brian has always made has always made quality products, buy with confidence.

Fascinating history there. Makes me respect my Cattman Y a little more.

When doing this install, take the opportunity to drop your pre-cats from the exhaust manifolds and inspect them for loose material.

I just put in my order today with Brian for a 5.5th gen Y-pipe.

Despite what the first post says, there are fewer people who are actually on Brian's list that have their orders in. We still need a few more orders to get these pipes made!

Saying that you're in through this forum isn't enough. You'll actually have to leave your address and CC# with Brian to get on his list.

No payments are made at this moment: once he gets enough names (at least 10 people), he'll notify everyone that they're ready to begin production and ask for a 30% deposit. When the Y-pipes are finished, he'll notify you again to pay the balance and have the pipes shipped.

We're real close to making this happen. It's time for all those who "commited" by saying that they're in to do so. Phone Brian and OFFICIALLY get on the list.
It will be @ least 6 weeks from the go ahead for production until the pipe is on your car, so let's go!

Thanks for that confirmation. I'm more than willing to spend an extra hundred bucks for a product that is fullfilling rather than regretfull.

That's great. Try again on Monday. You have to get in touch with him and I doubt that he's checking this thread. Last I spoke with Brian, he said he's very busy with "non Cattman stuff".

I spoke with Brian today and we're officially half way there.
5 of us have placed our orders and this makes me optimistic. But, 8 of us have indicated that we're "in" on the production run. Time to call Brian and make it official. If all 8 of us are commited, it'll happen sooner than later.

Come on people!

We have 8 that say they are "in" but only 6 orders have been verified. Get on people, let's get this rolling so we can have a deeper exhaust not and some more horsepower by mid-late June.

Let's go fellow Org members. Whoa Bayside!

I may be in. I've had a dreadful rattling from what I suspect is the pre-cats or cat and I believe the flex is going as I have a number of problems in that area. I'm going to inspect some more this weekend and check that I can get the old one off. If so, I should be in, but no promises just yet.

BTW, what is everyone doing to solve the pre-cats disintegrating? Does Nissan sell revised parts as replacements?

From what I understand, the Nissan OEM precats can be a bit of an issue. Someone sells after market Precats, which I think are less expensive but I could not point you in the right direction. You can probably find them via Google or the Org search bar.

It may also be the Y flex- there have been many reported issues. You should get a Y- just to be on the safe side, I know I would

Regardless- hop on this great Y pipe deal.

Hmmm, I see progress! Starting to get optimistic about this batch coming together. There are six solid orders for the 5.5gen - give me three more and we'll begin production.

There have to be three guys lurking or sitting on the fence, come on down, let's make it real!

Hey Brian, I'm still somewhat new to this. I plan on doing your full headers back system for next summer. My question is, the y-pipe is only applicable if you do not have your headers? Or will that be a part of the whole system I will be buying hopefully this winter/spring? Sorry if it's a bit noobish, thanks

The Y-Pipe for the Cattman headers is not the same as the stand-alone Y-Pipe. I can't tell you how disappointing that is.

Look, you should jump on this group buy for the Y-pipe right now, and make it happen for yourself and everyone else here. There's no guarantee you'll be able to get Cattman headers brand new, someday, according to your ambiguous plans... but there is a guarantee you can get a new Cattman Y-pipe right now, if you act on it.

Less HP... sure. But far less money, too. No header-drone, and no O2 Sensor issues.

This is heating up!
If you're thinking about it, remeber that it's not like you order today and get it next week. 3 more people and production time will push delivery into summer. Let's not wait till summer is almost done b4 we get these!

I feel that the y-pipe deal will happen. You can be a part of that.
The full header back system requires that two seperate group buys/ production runs materialize. One for the headers and one for the cat back.
If you go for the y-pipe now and get on the list for a full system for next year and are able to get the complete system, you'll have no trouble selling the y-pipe @ very little loss.

mrjones is one of the originals. So one gained and perhaps one lost will leave us even.

95vq30: What kind of headers do you have a line on?

OBX hopefully- still working it out, nothing is set in stone. But I at least wanted to be up front with it all

Update:

I just purchased headers so sadly, I am withdrawing from the group buy.

I hope this happens soon for you guys, sorry for any delay I may have caused- Good luck!

You have to be ready for possible issues with headers. I don't have first hand knowledge, but have done PLENTY of research. Anything from fittment issues with OBX and others to cracking over time to SES codes. I'm sticking to a y-pipe for my daily driver/wanna be performance car.
