Sincity Max: The Birth and Death of a Legend
So, here they are: The final Sincity Max photos. I guess it would be safe to say that it is just called a regular Maxima now. At first, the demodding process was somewhat heartbreaking. Tearing apart what I spent so much time and money putting together was tough at first. But it was something I wanted to do. The time had come and I had to move on. All good things come to an end.
As some of you may remember and to those of you that don't, Sincity Max has come a long way.
Some of the early on shots:
Some MOTM shots:

I will post up some final shots soon as I've decided to keep the Max. The wife will be driving it for now. I had the PCM reflashed today and amazingly enough after rewiring all the injectors, PCM, and all the other crap, she started right up with no problems. The hood is getting painted back to stock, battery still need to be relocated back under the hood and few exhaust leaks need to be fixed.

Roy, please tell me you originally bought the car with those silly tails and exhaust already glued into place with Elmer's and duct tape...
Either that, or you experience one heck of an evolution in car modding. The final shots are awesome.
This whole thread is making me sad again.

Nothing wrong with Trek and getting high... however, they shouldn't influence your car modding decisions. Glad you got that out of your system.

Very nice call Slim.
Sad to see it de-modded, really hope you ended up getting some of your money back out!
How hard is it going to be to leave it alone now that you're keeping it?
Seems like it's been a big 'de-modding' project, don't you love going backwards

Haha well you aren't the only one who's done a silly dual exit exhaust like that. I may have also mentioned all the red stuff in the engine bay... but in the end, you corrected everything!

Exactly. That thing was so badly carbonized that I had to put the blue torch on it. The freaking thing melted from the inside out all over my shop floor. I had never seen anything like it before.
I was going for the red, white and blue look.

Silly question? If you put all that time and money into modding it, and you're still keeping the car, why go through the time and money to de-mod it? Why not just leave it be and move onto the next project?

At first, it was my intention to sell it and use the money to buy a family car. But after demodding it, I did not want to get into something used without knowing the history behind it. At least I know pretty much where the Max has been every step of the way.

^ Makes a great family car once you take off the Turbo, etc too
Although, I think you may have been able to keep it as long as you were willing to lose the wheels and drop for comfort.

And some final shots.
It's been a long time since I saw this type of intake under the hood.
The battery relocation back under the hood took some creativity. The bracket that the factory intake bolts to and is welded to the body of the car was cut during the turbo install. The left side of the battery tray is supported by that bracket. Using self-tapping screws, I installed two smaller brackets where the old one used to be so the battery tray could lay flat. I then welded the right upper corner of the tray to better stabilize it.
Hood painted back to stock. And holy wheel gap!!

Wow, sad to see her go.
She definitely went through a lot of changes over the years. It's cool to see the progress. I might have to make a similar thread at some point.
However there are some times I miss stock... Usually when something breaks haha. Good luck with the next project.
