Stock Intakes 4th, 5th and 5.5 gen

I was able to get hold of the stock box for the 5.5 gen that holds the filter and MAF (bought the car and the intake wasn't stock). I'm right now trying to piece together the stock setup and wondered if the air scoop and the piece that connects the intake manifold to the box holding the filter are interchangeable between the 4th, 5th and 5.5 gen?

From the looks of pics of the engine bays of each different generation, the air scoop looks the same.

Is the diameter of the piece connecting the manifold to the filter box the same on all 3 generations? And if so, is that diameter 3 inches?

They are interchangeable in the 5th and 5.5 gen, but the 4th gen is a bit different and have different airboxes.

Also, as for an FYI, there is a slight difference in the 5 vs 5.5 in that the 5.5 has an extra resonator type item on the main box under the filter housing. It wont affect fitment, but there is a difference.

It's the equivalent of the difference in 95-96 vs 97-99 Maximas as in there is 1 more resonator on the box. Weird.

Thanks alot for the help NmexMax.

I took a look at some pictures of the 5th gen engine bay vs the 5.5 gen engine bay specifically at the air boxes. It looks like for the 5th gen, there are 2 hoses that extend from the thing connecting the filter box and the IM, whereas the 5.5 gen has only 1 hose.

Can anyone confirm that? If I were able to get a hold of a 5th gen configuration, would I have to somehow plug that up? What can I use to plug it?

Ahh yes. This doesn't concern the airbox though, but the 5.5 uses electronic throttle controlwheras the 5th gen uses the IACV. So, with that said, in between the TB and MAF, there are 2 extra vacuum hoses on the 5th gen vs the 5.5 gen. The 5.5 gen has only the PCV hose and nothing else.
